POLICE safety order – A Police Safety Order (PSO) is issued by Police when they have reasonable grounds to believe that family violence has occurred or may occur. A PSO can last for up to five days, but is usually one or two days. The purpose of the PSO is to protect people at risk from violence, harassment, or intimidation.
